Seven Devils
Florence and the Machine!!! Here I come. So I’ve packed my passport, spare supplies and sleeping bag for the Lord of the Rings sized journey to that Mansion on a Hill known as Alexandra Palace. Very exited to see Florence and her Machine at last after a few near misses. Before that however I had a lovely day courtesy of the Lomography Store and Rock my Wedding, a free photo shoot with renowned photographers and a free Diana Camera. Someone special won the competition and invited me along for the ride which entailed rushing around Soho and Carneby Street getting a few choice shots.
Like this one for example. We got quite attached to the Head dress thingy, as did one of our lovely photographers Emma Case, who was so lovely you just wanted to give her a hug.
Musically, thanks for all those who came down to The Elgin the other night where I managed to subdue a noisy room with my songs and please one Italian lady so much that she did quasi flamenco dancing all through my set and insisted on little chats in between songs. Rather odd but exciting stuff.
Also tonight Woman will be broadcast on the BBC Radio 2 Arts Show hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Keep your fingers crossed for me as it was supposed to air last week. I’ll be floating on waves of Euphoria at that point whilst Florence smashes windows with her pipes. I have to remember to wrap up warm because if I remember correctly Alexandra Palace is colder than the snow in Siberia.
Here’s another shot from the Lomography Store just off Carneby Street. Anyone looking for a great gift to present to someone who has an artistic bent could do a lot worse than take a trip down here. I recommend starting off with a Diana Mini or Holga. The easiest would be a super sampler which takes four pictures in a row. A very snazzy effect, just make sure there is as much natural light as possible to illuminate your efforts.
Have a great weekend wherever you find yourselves. Remember to drink at least one white russian and to buy at least one other person a drink. Off to the Palace now!
THE DOG DAYS ARE OVERRRRR!!!!!!!
